Thank you Marta.

Camtasias purpose is to record the screen. If you are doing a video where you need both screen recording and regular video shoots, then you can work with your camcorder and edit those clips together with your screen recording videos in Camtasia.

But for most tutorial you will not even need a camcorder, just camtasia and a webcam will do if you want some pip (picture-in-picture).

If you already have a powerpoint presentation done you can record it with Camtasia using the Camtasia add-in toolbar that was installed into powerpoint when you installed Camtasia.

Be sure to do a test recording before recording your whole session. And set a smaller screen resolution before starting the recording to make the video smaller.

And finally, about watch or read, I would check out all tutorials ;-)

Best of luck with your Camtasia recording!

An excellent training of a very high quality. Many thanks for all the demos and great clarity. It's very well done!

I'm a novice and I didn't create my video yet. Should I record first my video with my Sony camcorder Handycam HD, and then edit it with Camtasia?

If I do a video using my PowerPoint presentation - then what I do first - create a presentation using MS PPT and then open it with Camtasia and edit? At which point I add the sound (my voice accompanying the presentation), I guess in MS PPT? Not sure, yet.

What are the best tutorials to read or watch, Peter?
