I know it's a bit of an old thread, but I just wanted to say thank you to ChTiPowA for providing a solution for my problem.

For others interested

System: Win7 64Bit, Camtasia 7
tscc driver 3.0.0 (tsccvid.dll tsccvid64.dll)

Issue:
I could not play any video recorded with tscc in a 32bit application, this included camtasia itself. How ever the videos played fine in 64bit players (windows media player 64bit, Windows media center 64bit).

Solution:
I ran the codecTewakTool_510 from the link above and went in under Manage source filters, and found that .avi was set to DivX Demux Filter. I changed that to Microsoft, and it solved my problem.

ps. Be careful with files from web site you do not know / trust, always run them through an antivirus scan before using them.

Hello Sue,

This is a service to download older versions of Camtasia Studio. But you will need a license key to use them after the trial period has ended.

Not directly, but with your camera you most like got software that will allow other outputs or conversion to other formats that Camtasia can handle.

My Sony HD camera output m2ts files (also avchd). In the software I just right-click on the video file and can then output the same video file to VMW and Mpeg2. Both of these you can use in Camtasia.
