Screencast Camp

ScreencastCamp is a gathering of screencasters and visual communication aficionados wanting to network, learn, and collaborate on the art of screencasting.

The event relies on the passion and creativity of the attendees—all sessions, discussions, and demos are led by attendees sharing their knowledge. The program isn’t determined beforehand—it’s created the first day by the participants.

Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join. ScreencastCamp follows the BarCamp model–an ad-hoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment.

TechSmith trainers, developers, video staff and evangelists will be onsite and sharing their knowledge too.

When: Friday, August 12 to Sunday, August 14

Where: At TechSmith headquarters in Okemos, Michigan.

How much: Absolutely free! All meals and drinks Friday evening through Sunday afternoon are provided by TechSmith.

I am scared, very scared

I have to tell you something, but I don’t have much time…

Something strange has happened over at SnagitGuide.

They started experimenting with Snagit, the screen capture software when they discovered something. Something horrifying I cannot fully comprehend or even begin to explain. And I am afraid my time is running out.

I will try to get more information to you shortly, but I think they are watching me…

I am scared, very scared.

I warned you but look for yourself if you dare…

Camtasia Relay 2.0 is a software that captures meetings, audio, video recordings and presentations for your educational organization or enterprise.  It lets your team capture important activities at the same time.  As an offsite manager, It makes me adjust to the needs of my growing workforce by providing recorded trainings and new hire orientation coming in left and right.

Being physically present in meetings where important decisions are made is just as challenging, so I attend them virtually by browsing through recorded meetings and conversations, and viewing them at my own convenience, and broadcasting my decisions through the server in the same manner. It leaves me up-to-date with the latest information and providing guidance to my leadership team.

Here’s a snapshot of Camtasia Relay features:

Flexibility - Camtasia Relay is packed with options that are simple and hassle-free.  You can also trim the idle time by using its customizable presets to make well-organized videos and lets you record without the using the internet.

Portability and Compatibility. It supports a wide variety of file formats that you can choose from in saving your videos.  This ensures that you can play it using your iPod, or saving it in a USB and view it in a different media.

Secure. It lets you administer the files that can be posted to avoid the threat of posting unofficial videos.  It also notifies the presenters through email when the processing and publishing of the videos are done.

Cost-Efficient. The full functionality of Camtasia Relay 2 reduces time and effort to get through most of the conference-related tasks and presenta-tions.  This lowers manpower and other equipment costs that impede a business’ development.

The Camtasia Relay 2’s functionality has helped me a lot in coping with the demands of my work, and participating/managing my group.   What’s best is it can also be used by students, faculty, and IT administrators in accessing information when they need it 24/7.

Camtasia Mac 1.1 Out Now

Camtasia for Mac 1.1There has been alot of exciting news on the PC side of Camtasia lately, but today I have some interesting stuff happening on the Mac side…

Following the feedback from the Mac community, Camtasia for Mac has now its first ever update since the first release, Camtasia for Mac version 1.1. This upgraded version has been updated with the most frequently requested features. The new version includes the following new features:

  • Region Capture

A specific area on your screen can now be selected instead of recording the entire screen. You don’t need to crop and zoom anymore as you will be recording only the exact part that you want to capture.

  • Audio Enhancements

Noises coming from clicking, typing, fan and other distractions can now be removed. This audio enhancement can also regulate the pitch of your voice and remove the clicking sound when you’re speaking closely to the microphone.

  • Monitor Selection

If you have multiple displays on your Macintosh, you can now select which monitor you’d like to record.

  • Voice-Only Recording

This feature allows you to capture only the microphone audio without recording the screen video. You can also create and edit a voice-over separate from the screen recording so you can easily make changes in the narration.

  • Pause and Resume

If you’re recording a long video, you can now go into “Pause” mode while trying to gather your thoughts or clear your throat. With this feature, unwanted content can be avoided while recording.

Using these new features will surely result in a hassle-free recording experience and high quality projects.

For current users of Camtasia for Mac 1.0, start using these new features now by checking for an update directly in your software then select Install Update on the Software Update window.
