Yes, I really do. I need your help creating the Future Camtasia Studio Custom Callouts.
We have been hard at work creating a new exciting pack of Callouts to be used in Video Production together with Camtasia Studio and other video creation tools.
I have included a video below for you to get a sense of what we are doing. Included in the video are some examples of the Callouts of my design.
So I am calling all Camtasia users and anybody working with video out there for help building this graphics pack. You will be the co-creator so to speak
Check out the video:
I need your help with suggestions of what graphic icons should be included. What graphics do you need for your video productions?
As a thank you gift I will give out a free copy of SuperStamps (197 Images with transparency that you can use in your videos) for every suggestion that’s included in our new SuperCallouts for Video.
Please post your Graphic Icon suggestion in the comment area on this blog (below) or email me your suggestion.
Callouts in videos can be used for many different reasons. A few of the main purpose of Callouts are:
- To create attention
- To draw attention to important areas of your video
- Act as bullet points in lists
- Could be used as watermarks in your videos
- Give meaning by acting as metaphors, for example a clock means time
For your Callout suggestion, please make sure to include:
- The idea – what Text or Image do you need as callout?
- What color?
- What shape should the graphic/icon have?
- Anything else that may clarify your idea?
I really love to hear your suggestions so please post it below now and if included in the final product you’ll get a free copy of SuperStamps value $20.00!

I would like to see media related callouts. Like magazines or newspaper related images.
I thought it would be useful to use icons related to time. Some examples are the following:
* A clock showing different faces of emotion
* A clock with a sad face and crooked clock hands. This could mean time has run out or it’s past the deadline. Red and black is a good combination for this image.
* A clock showing a man running clockwise instead of the clock hands ticking. This could mean time is running out. A symbol of what the man is running for could be placed anywhere on the clock.
Thanks @Bridget and @Mizrael. Great ideas – Please keep them coming! A SuperStamps pack each is on it’s way (via email of course).
To expand on what Bridget suggested, I’d like to see some social media callouts. I don’t know the legal TM (trademark) implications though.
I need flowchart layouts since I teach computer science.
Also callouts for putting websites and code in.
I’m in the financial industry so a dollar sign is about all I can think of.
I also need flowchart shapes and file folder callouts for procedure related work…in the financial area…so dollar bills…bank…these would all be helpful
What would be cool for call outs would be Road Signs.
Stop, merge left, construction ahead, etc. If you need a detailed list I can put one together.
Cheers!
need some female friendly things…there are 2.5 million quilters and there is nothing that is remotely related to sewing, quilts, sewing machines, fabric designs, patterns, stencils, stitches…like stitch, pause, stitch, pause like a dotted line is created. Maybe symbols with softer colors and patterned designed backgrounds that are not Goth with bleeding hearts, etc. tho they are exquist in design. Pinks, purples softer hues
This is a stretch for you but quilting is a bigger industry than the sale of ice cream…strawberry anyone?
I use Camtasia for guides to computer programs. I would really like to have graphics to illustrate keyboard (type something), diskette (save), Internet cloud (browse), USB/Ethernet/Power connectors (plug-in), Mouse (click)etc.
Thanks Kaare, Sally, Dirk, Elizabeth, Greenlee, Kathleen and MiniSites. I am sending you all emails with your bonus and a few follow-up questions about your ideas. Thank you so much for your participation – all great comments!
Hi Peter,
I find that transparent callouts I like to use include ones that I can enter text on right in Camtasia like “thought bubbles”, notepads, sticky notes, etc.
But they gotta look cool!

I develop software and do video for the help files and also for sales. Kaare had some good suggestions that could work for me. Some rectangular Buy Now or Join Now or globe looking Download Now type of buttons would be cool. I could use them in the sales videos that I do. As far as the help sections, some round buttons with question marks, or badge shaped buttons. Really, the list could go on forever.

We are beginning to use the product to develop tutorials for our product lines. Since we are aiming at educators – perhaps stamps or callouts that are aimed at teachers like “Good job!” – “Superstar”, etc. Thanks so much!
A set of callouts using different national or city specific characteristics. The graphic can convey romance and food for Paris and energy and a can do feeling for NYC. Switzerland can convey wealth and chocolate. Amsterdam a quirky edge of forbidden fruit in a Dutch cheese setting and so on….
Hope you like the ideas and have fun with brainstorming it!
Best,
George
I am thinking along the same lines as Scott – we design videos to help educators and students so callouts that can be used as “Job Well Done” stamps such as:
“Way to go!”
“You’re a rock star”
“You aced it!”
“Awesome”
“Keep up the good work”
“Outstanding”
“This is your best work”
Thank you, great suggestions!
@lon Yes, a number of “empty callouts” are included. I think they are cool, hope you agree
@mike, great suggestions. We are thinking of a future more sales focused pack too.
@Scott and Michelle, great suggestions. I’ll see what we can do.
@George, very interesting ideas, thanks!
How about some “social networking” callouts, where you could put twitter, facebook, youtube, etc. URLs?
I would love some musical shapes and symbols like the usual notes and clef signs, maybe an ipod, earphones, other “listening” symbols. Musical instruments.
